WNBA Player Props Today: Breanna Stewart, Kelsey Mitchell Headline Best Picks (9/1/2023)

Action Network

So we went 1-for-2 with our WNBA player prop bets on Tuesday.

This means we’ve hit on 13 of our last 17 props going back to Aug. 8 and are entering the month of September on a stretch of shooting 76.5% from the field.

That’s a hell of a field goal percentage and a solid free throw percentage for a big, a great gambling mark.

This will fall off at some point, I’m sure… but hopefully not tonight! We’re back with two more WNBA prop bets to send you into Labor Day weekend, and hopefully, begin the month of September (jeez… already?!) on a high note.

WNBA Player Props Today

Sun vs.

Liberty

Breanna Stewart, Over 22.5 Points (-134)

Spread Liberty -7.5

I like the chances of Breanna Stewart shooting over the top of the Connecticut Sun defense to success — someone will need to against that Sun interior.

Stewart shot 2-for-9 from deep against the Sun and still got to 24 points because of her effectiveness from two and cashing in on four of her five free-throw opportunities.

She has only gone over this line twice in her last five games, but the Liberty are at home and are playing to clinch the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference. Of Stewart’s 17 games with 23 or more points, nine have been at home, so she’s been balanced. Additionally, of games over 25 points or more, five of seven have been at home.

I think Stewart has an efficient bounce-back performance from the 9-of-23 showing against the Aces and in response to a five-game stretch where she’s shooting 43.5% from the field and 31.4% on threes. I like this at over 22.5. Some (like FanDuel) are listing at 23.5, which gives me some caution — I might still do it, but play a lesser amount. (More juice, though!)

Wings vs.

Fever

Kelsey Mitchell, Over 3.5 Assists (-113)

Spread Wings -5.5
Time | TV 7 p.m. ET | ION TV
Best Line FanDuel

Kelsey Mitchell has landed at over 3.5 dimes in three of her last four, and I like her here against the Dallas Wings.

Mitchell and the Fever will have chances to score given that the Wings don’t have a premier defense over the last few weeks. Mitchell has gotten to four-plus assists just 15 times this season but has done it four times in her last six games going back to Aug. 10.

The Ohio State alum may be able to get more out of Aliyah Boston and NaLyssa Smith tonight. The pair has been inconsistent lately but combined for 35 points — leading the team with 18 and 17, respectively — against the Wings on July 9, their only bout so far this season.

Mitchell had four assists in that game, and I think she just hits that over tonight. I would not play this up to 4.5, but I don’t think it elevates from this mark.
