Ogwumike missed Sunday's win over Washington due to an ankle injury and will remain sidelined for the second half of a back-to-back set. Her next chance to suit up will come Wednesday versus Indiana. Ogwumike officially has a questionable tag, but she's getting in a workout during the afternoon and will be re-evaluated before tipoff to see how she's feeling. Ezi Magbegor and Mercedes Russell are candidates to see increased roles if Ogwumike is unable to give it a go.

She was spotted in a walking boot, sparking speculation Sykes may be sidelined for an extended period, but it looks like Washington hopes its top guard will be back in action this week. Sykes' official status for Tuesday's game in Los Angeles will likely be released sometime Monday afternoon.

Magbegor dominated the glass and led the contest in rebounds, ending as one of three Storm players with a double-digit point total en route to a double-double. Magbegor tallied her first double-double of the young season and has posted at least 15 points and nine rebounds in two of her three outings.

Russell got her first start of the season due to Nneka Ogwumike (ankle) being out and finished two points shy of the double-digit mark while swiping a team-high-tying pair of steals in a winning effort. Russell set season-high marks in minutes played, points and rebounds and has posted at least seven points and three boards in all three games this season.

Loyd led the contest in scoring and shots made from the free-throw line but didn't connect on a three during the win. Loyd posted a season-high 24 points, her second outing of the year with 20 or more. She has also connected on 10 or more free throws in two straight games.
